How to secure a shared document
SendNow gives you several independent layers — stack the ones that match what you're actually protecting against.
Know who's opening it
Turn on Require Email to View to log an email address before anyone sees the file, or Allow Specified Users to restrict it to an exact list with OTP verification.
Gate it with a password or an agreement
Password Protection adds a shared secret; the NDA / Agreement Gate makes them read and accept your own terms first, with their name, email, and timestamp recorded.
Stop them taking a copy
Turn off Allow Download to remove the download button, and turn on Screenshot Blocker to discourage screenshots on desktop browsers.
Make a leak traceable
Turn on the Dynamic Watermark to stamp each viewer's own email and the date onto every page — so even a captured copy points back to whoever opened it.
Set these once as your default
If you find yourself turning the same switches on every time, set them as your account's Security Defaults instead.
Good to know
- Be honest with yourself about Screenshot Blocker: no web app can truly stop a screenshot on a phone — it only raises friction on desktop browsers. Pair it with the dynamic watermark rather than relying on it alone.
- Downloads and screenshots are two separate switches — turning off one doesn't turn off the other.
- Every gate you add is one more step your recipient has to clear, so combine only as many as the document actually warrants.
