SendNow vs Dropbox

Dropbox is where many teams keep their files. Until March 2025 it also had Send and Track, which showed who viewed a shared file. That feature is gone. SendNow is built for that job: sharing a document as a link and seeing exactly how it was read.

Google Drive vs Virtual Data Room: What's the Difference?

Google Drive is built for everyday storage and collaboration. A virtual data room is built for confidential sharing. Here is when to use each.

Where each one wins

Where SendNow is better

It still tracks reading

Dropbox removed Send and Track on 31 March 2025, and its analytics went with it. SendNow shows who opened each file, how long they stayed on each page and when they came back.

Deal-grade protection

NDA gates, dynamic watermarks, screenshot blocking and allow-lists are built in. Dropbox sharing has passwords and expiry dates, but none of these.

Data rooms

SendNow Microsites turn a set of files into a branded data room from $12.40/mo.

Where Dropbox is better

Storage and sync

Dropbox stores and syncs all your files across devices. SendNow is for sharing documents with people outside, not for storing everything.

Huge file transfers

Dropbox Transfer sends up to 50 GB on Plus and 100 GB on Standard and above.

Team folders

Dropbox team plans give everyone shared folders and admin controls.

What happened to Dropbox Send and Track?

Dropbox shut down Send and Track on 31 March 2025. Existing tracked links stopped working and their analytics were deleted, and Dropbox pointed users to DocSend, its separate document tracking product.

If you relied on Send and Track, you have two options: move to DocSend, or use a tool like SendNow, which does the same job from a lower price.

Can I use SendNow with Dropbox?

Yes, and most people do. Keep your files in Dropbox, then upload the ones you send to investors, clients or buyers to SendNow and share them as tracked links. You get Dropbox's storage and SendNow's reading data.
